01 -
Mix the apple pie filling, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a bowl until well combined. Using scissors, carefully cut the apple pieces into smaller, bite-sized chunks so they'll fit better in your hand pies.
02 -
Roll out one pie crust and use a 3-inch round cookie cutter to cut out as many circles as possible. Gather up the leftover dough, re-roll it, and cut more circles. Keep going until you've used all the dough, then repeat with the second crust.
03 -
Place a heaping tablespoon of the apple filling into the center of half of your dough circles - these will be the bottoms. Mix the egg and milk in a small bowl, then brush this egg wash around the edges of the filled circles.
04 -
Top each filled circle with a plain dough circle. Use a fork to gently press around the edges to seal the pies. Brush the tops with the remaining egg wash and sprinkle with coarse sugar. Cut a few small slits in the top of each pie to let steam escape.
05 -
Lightly spray the air fryer basket with oil. Place the pies in a single layer in your air fryer (you may need to cook in batches). Cook at 300°F for 10-12 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
06 -
While the pies are cooking, mix the powdered sugar with milk, adding just 1 tablespoon at first. Stir well, then add more milk if needed to reach your desired consistency. If it gets too runny, add more powdered sugar.
07 -
Let the pies cool slightly before drizzling with the glaze. Serve warm for the best taste experience!
