# Ingredients:

→ Mashed Potato Topping

01 - 180 grams instant mashed potatoes (approximately half of a 370 g box)
02 - Butter, milk, and salt as indicated by instant mashed potato package instructions

→ Meat and Vegetable Filling

03 - 450 grams ground beef
04 - 340 grams frozen mixed vegetables
05 - 305 grams canned tomato soup
06 - 43 grams beef stew seasoning mix
07 - 120 millilitres water
08 - 110–220 grams shredded cheddar cheese

# Instructions:

01 - Combine instant mashed potatoes with butter, milk, and salt as instructed on the package to achieve a smooth consistency.
02 - In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until uniformly browned. Drain off excess fat for a leaner filling.
03 - Add tomato soup, frozen mixed vegetables, seasoning mix, and water to the cooked beef. Stir thoroughly and simmer on low heat for 5–10 minutes to blend flavors.
04 - Transfer the meat and vegetable mixture to the bottom of a greased 23 x 33 cm baking dish, spreading evenly.
05 - Layer the prepared mashed potatoes evenly over the beef mixture. Sprinkle a generous amount of shredded cheddar cheese across the surface.
06 - Bake the assembled dish uncovered at 200°C for approximately 30 minutes until the cheese is melted and golden brown.
07 - Allow the dish to stand for 5–10 minutes before slicing and serving, which helps maintain clean portions.

# Notes:

01 - Mashed potatoes may be prepared from scratch or with leftover potatoes for added flavour and texture.
02 - For additional depth, stir in sautéed onions with the ground beef if preferred.
03 - Ideal for meal prep; the casserole can be assembled ahead and reheated before serving.
