Tasty Pizza Soup (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Meats

01 - 1 pound of ground Italian sausage with mild seasoning
02 - 1 bag (6 oz) of chopped pepperoni slices, save some extra for garnishing

→ Veggies & Aromatics

03 - 1 garlic clove, minced (about 1 tablespoon)
04 - 1 cup of green bell pepper, seeds removed and chopped
05 - 1 medium yellow onion, diced small (approximately a cup)

→ Liquids & Bases

06 - 4 cups (32 oz) of chicken broth
07 - 1 large can (28 oz) of crushed tomatoes
08 - 14 oz of pizza-flavored tomato sauce from a can

→ Flavors & Extra Toppings

09 - A dash (¼ tsp) of red chili pepper flakes
10 - 2 teaspoons of dried Italian seasoning mix
11 - Shredded parmesan (1 cup, around 100g), keep extra aside for serving
12 - Fresh basil leaves to decorate on top

# Instructions:

01 - Heat up a large pot or Dutch oven on medium. Add the sausage, onion, and bell pepper. Let everything cook while stirring occasionally and breaking the meat into pieces. Once the sausage browns (after roughly 8–10 minutes), stir in the garlic for the last minute. Drain off any grease.
02 - Slowly pour in the chicken broth while stirring, making sure to release any bits stuck to the bottom of the pot.
03 - Mix in the crushed tomatoes, pizza sauce, chili flakes, herbs, and pepperoni. Keep stirring as you bring it to a simmer (3–5 minutes). Once bubbling, add parmesan and stir until it fully blends in.
04 - Sprinkle more parmesan, fresh basil, and leftover pepperoni over the top. Serve it hot and enjoy!
