Tater Tot Bake (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 lb ground beef
02 - 1 small onion, finely chopped
03 - 2 cloves garlic, minced
04 - 1 cup frozen peas and carrots
05 - 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
06 - 1/2 cup sour cream
07 - 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
08 - Salt and pepper to taste
09 - 1 bag (about 32 oz) frozen tater tots
10 - Fresh chopped chives, optional for garnish

# Instructions:

01 - In a skillet, cook ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain fat.
02 - Add chopped onion and garlic; sauté until translucent, about 3–4 minutes.
03 - Stir in cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, peas, and carrots. Season with salt and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
04 - Turn off heat and stir in 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese.
05 - Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
06 - Spread the beef mixture evenly in the baking dish. Arrange frozen tater tots in a single layer on top.
07 - Sprinkle the remaining 1 cup of cheddar cheese over the tater tots.
08 - Bake uncovered for 35–40 minutes, or until tater tots are golden and cheese is bubbly.
09 - Let rest for a few minutes, garnish with chives, and serve hot.
