Homestyle Poor Man's Steak (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Steaks

01 - Ground beef - 2 pounds
02 - Saltine crackers, crushed - 1½ cups
03 - Whole milk - 1 cup
04 - Italian seasoning - ½ teaspoon
05 - Garlic powder - ½ teaspoon
06 - Onion powder - ½ teaspoon
07 - Paprika - ½ teaspoon
08 - Cayenne - ¼ teaspoon
09 - Salt and pepper to taste
10 - Flour for dredging - 1 cup
11 - Butter - 2 tablespoons
12 - Olive oil - 1 tablespoon

→ Mushroom Gravy

13 - Condensed cream of mushroom soup - 2 (10.75 oz) cans
14 - Whole milk - 1½ cups
15 - Fresh parsley, chopped - 1½ tablespoons

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray 9x13 baking dish with nonstick spray.
02 - Whisk cream of mushroom soups with milk, stir in parsley. Set aside.
03 - Mix ground beef, crushed saltines, milk, and seasonings. Form into even-sized patties.
04 - Coat patties in seasoned flour. Brown in butter and oil until golden on both sides.
05 - Place patties in baking dish, cover with gravy. Cover with foil and bake 30-40 minutes until cooked through.

# Notes:

01 - Use lean ground beef to prevent greasiness
02 - Can be prepared up to 8 hours ahead
03 - Make patties larger as they will shrink
