Quick Beef and Noodle Casserole (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Base Ingredients

01 - Egg noodles, uncooked - 3 cups
02 - Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
03 - Medium onion, chopped - ½
04 - Lean ground beef - 1 pound
05 - Garlic cloves, minced - 2

→ Sauce and Seasonings

06 - Marinara sauce - 2 cups
07 - Crushed red pepper flakes - 1 pinch (optional)
08 - Salt and pepper to taste

→ Cheese

09 - Mozzarella-cheddar blend, grated - 2 cups (or just cheddar)

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat oven to 375°F with rack in top third. Cook noodles 1-2 minutes less than package directions.
02 - Cook onion and beef in oil over medium-high heat until browned, 8-10 minutes. Add garlic and red pepper flakes, cook 30 seconds.
03 - Drain excess fat if needed. Add marinara sauce and warm through.
04 - Combine noodles, beef mixture, and half the cheese in 9x13 casserole dish. Top with remaining cheese.
05 - Bake uncovered 10-15 minutes until cheese melts. Optional: broil briefly to brown cheese.

01 - Can use all cheddar cheese if preferred
02 - Cook noodles slightly undercooked
03 - Optional broiling for browned cheese
