Wash and cut off both ends of the green beans. Pat them dry using paper towels.

Set up a breading station with three separate trays: mix flour and cornstarch in one, beat together eggs and buttermilk in another, and stir breadcrumbs with spices in the last.

Heat up some oil in a wide pan on medium-high until it’s ready for frying.

Coat each green bean by dipping it into flour, dunking it in the egg mix, then rolling in breadcrumbs. Repeat the egg and breadcrumb dip once more.

Drop 6-8 green beans into the oil at a time. Cook them until they’re nice and golden, then place on a paper towel to drain.

Keep frying the green beans in batches so the oil doesn’t cool down too much.

Serve them hot with a sauce you like for dipping.
