Classic Homestyle Glazed Meatloaf (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Meatloaf

01 - Ground beef (85% or 80% lean) - 2 pounds
02 - Medium onion, finely chopped - 1 cup
03 - Olive oil - 1 teaspoon
04 - Large eggs - 2
05 - Garlic cloves, minced - 3
06 - Ketchup - 2 tablespoons
07 - Fresh parsley, finely chopped - 3 tablespoons
08 - Panko breadcrumbs - ¾ cup
09 - Milk - ⅓ cup
10 - Salt - 1 teaspoon
11 - Italian seasoning - 1 teaspoon
12 - Ground black pepper - ½ teaspoon

→ Glaze

13 - Ketchup - ¾ cup
14 - White vinegar - 1½ teaspoons
15 - Brown sugar - 2 tablespoons
16 - Garlic powder - ½ teaspoon
17 - Onion powder - ½ teaspoon

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
02 - Heat oil in a medium skillet over medium heat. Sauté onions until softened and golden, about 5-7 minutes. Set aside to cool.
03 - In a large bowl, combine all meatloaf ingredients. Mix gently just until combined - do not overmix.
04 - Form meat mixture into a loaf (8x4x3 inches) on prepared baking sheet. Bake at 350°F for 40 minutes.
05 - Mix all glaze ingredients in a small bowl until well combined.
06 - Spread glaze over meatloaf and bake additional 20 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 160°F. Rest 10-15 minutes before slicing.

# Notes:

01 - Can substitute half the beef with ground turkey, chicken, or pork (cook poultry to 165°F)
02 - For loaf pan method, line with parchment and bake at 375°F
03 - Do not overmix to avoid dense texture
