01 - 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
02 - 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon red chili flakes, depending on taste
03 - 2 tablespoons maple syrup (pure)
04 - 1 teaspoon freshly cracked pepper
05 - 1 pound of thick-sliced bacon
06 - A tiny pinch of cayenne (optional)

# Instructions:

01 - Turn the oven on to 350°F (175°C). Cover a baking tray with foil or parchment, then set a metal rack over it.
02 - Spread the strips of bacon out flat on the rack, leaving some space between each slice.
03 - In a small dish, stir together the brown sugar, maple syrup, black pepper, cayenne, and chili flakes until it forms a thick blend.
04 - With a spoon or brush, spread the mixture generously over each piece of bacon so they're fully covered.
