Effortless Texas Roadhouse Steak Rub (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Rub for Steak

01 - 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
02 - 0.5 teaspoon chili powder
03 - 0.5 teaspoon paprika
04 - 0.25 teaspoon ground turmeric
05 - 0.25 teaspoon onion powder
06 - 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
07 - 0.25 teaspoon cornstarch
08 - 2 teaspoons brown sugar
09 - 2 teaspoons coarse kosher salt

# Instructions:

01 - Toss all your rub stuff into a bowl or throw it in a big zip-top bag. Cover the bowl or close that bag tight. Shake it around or give it a good stir till everything looks even.
02 - Grab your steak and get it totally covered with the spice mix. Press it in there good. Let it chill on the counter for about 40 minutes so the salt works in and softens everything up.
03 - Crank up your grill nice and hot. Pop the steak right on there and cook each side for about 4 to 5 minutes. Let it get that deep, crusty sear.
04 - Once you flip it, cook more depending on how done you want: 5 minutes more for medium-rare, go 7 for medium, and if you like it well done, give it 10 minutes.

# Notes:

01 - If you want it saltier, sprinkle on extra at the end. Totally up to your taste.
02 - You’ll get around 2.4 tablespoons of this mix. That should be enough for two big steaks.
03 - Filet mignon, ribeye, New York strip, and porterhouse all pair great with this blend.
04 - Old-school sides like mashed potatoes and brown gravy go awesome with this grilled steak.
