Turn your oven on to 400°F so it heats up. Coat a 9x13-inch pan lightly with olive oil to stop sticking.

In a big bowl, toss together the penne (uncooked), pasta sauce, water, cream, seasonings, salt, and pepper. Mix it all up well.

Pour the pasta mixture straight into the greased dish. Seal it tight with foil and put it in the oven for 45 minutes. If the pasta texture isn’t right, bake for another 5–10 minutes.

Take off the foil, gently mix in ricotta cheese, and spread mozzarella and Parmesan evenly over the top.

Put it back in the oven without foil for 10–15 minutes so the cheese melts. Let it sit for about 5 minutes before serving. Sprinkle with basil if you like, and enjoy warm.
