Bacon Sugar Smokies (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 1 pound thin bacon, sliced into thirds
02 - 1 (16 oz) pack cocktail sausages
03 - Fresh black pepper, as needed
04 - 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed tightly

# Instructions:

01 - Turn your oven on to 350°F and spray a pan with cooking oil, or use foil as an alternative to keep cleaning easy.
02 - Dry the sausages briefly with a paper towel, then wrap each one with a piece of bacon. Use toothpicks to hold them in place.
03 - Pour brown sugar into a large plastic bag that seals. Toss in a few bacon-wrapped sausages and shake them around to coat evenly. Do this for all sausages, then arrange everything on the baking pan.
04 - Lightly sprinkle the bacon sausages with freshly ground black pepper if you'd like.
05 - Place your sausages in the heated oven and bake for around 30-35 minutes, until the bacon is browned. If you'd prefer extra crispy bacon, broil briefly at the end.
06 - Move the sausages to a serving platter and enjoy them while hot.

# Notes:

01 - Cleaning up is easier if you use cooking spray or foil.
02 - For added heat, mix a bit of cayenne pepper into the sugar before shaking.
