Coat a casserole dish (23x33 cm) evenly with grease to stop sticking.

Lay 6 slices of bread on the bottom of the casserole dish. Spread chopped bacon, mushrooms, green onions, and cheese over them. Add another layer of 6 bread slices on top.

Stir together the eggs and milk in a mixing bowl until smooth and blended.

Drizzle the custard mix over the bread and filling layers. Cover the dish and chill it for at least 1 hour, or keep it in the fridge overnight for better texture.

Heat the oven to 175°C. Take off the cover and bake for an hour or until the top browns and the custard is firm.

Add a sprinkle of green onions on top before serving, if you'd like.
