Bacon Cheese Breakfast (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Base

01 - 12 pieces of white bread, no crusts

→ Filling

02 - 1.5 cups (180 g) shredded cheddar cheese
03 - 2 green onions, chopped
04 - 8 bacon slices, cooked and crumbled
05 - 1 can (284 ml) drained sliced mushrooms

→ Custard

06 - 2 cups (480 ml) milk
07 - 4 large beaten eggs

# Instructions:

01 - Coat a casserole dish (23x33 cm) evenly with grease to stop sticking.
02 - Lay 6 slices of bread on the bottom of the casserole dish. Spread chopped bacon, mushrooms, green onions, and cheese over them. Add another layer of 6 bread slices on top.
03 - Stir together the eggs and milk in a mixing bowl until smooth and blended.
04 - Drizzle the custard mix over the bread and filling layers. Cover the dish and chill it for at least 1 hour, or keep it in the fridge overnight for better texture.
05 - Heat the oven to 175°C. Take off the cover and bake for an hour or until the top browns and the custard is firm.
06 - Add a sprinkle of green onions on top before serving, if you'd like.

01 - For the tastiest result, let the casserole soak in the fridge overnight to fully absorb the custard.
